NITROUS OXIDE (LAUGHING GAS) SEDATION DENTISTRY

If visiting us for a checkup or other procedure makes you nervous, we also offer a milder way to ease the anxiety than sedation. Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, has been used in dentistry for over 150 years, so we know that it can be safely used to reduce fear and dental anxiety without causing any serious side effects. Nitrous oxide can be used for children and adults.

What to Expect:

The nice thing about using nitrous oxide is that you don’t have to do anything special to prepare for your appointment. We’ll ask you a few questions about your medical health to ensure that there won’t be a problem with a specific condition or medication.

Once you’re in our office, we’ll fit you with a special mask that covers only your nose. All you have to do is breathe through your nose, and the nitrous oxide will take care of the rest. Rest assured, you’ll feel relaxed, stay awake and be able to think clearly.

When your procedure is complete, you’ll be able to continue all your normal activities, including driving your car.
